What is the Connect 2 Ministry?

This ministry is designed to ensure that new women members (including but not limited to those who have attended Coffee Connections, a women's Bible study or a special event) have found a place to connect. Volunteers of this ministry will be responsible for contacting the new members 2 months after having joined BHBC to make sure they have gotten connected. What a wonderful opportunity to show Christ's love with a personal touch!

How much time is required?

The contacts will be made monthly and divided equally amongst our volunteers. Thus, the number of contacts you will be asked to make each month will depend on the number of new members that month and the number of volunteers we have in the ministry at that time.

How will I get the names, phone numbers and addresses of the new women members who need to be contacted?

These will be e-mailed or given to you by phone at the beginning of each month by the Connect 2 Director.

How do I contact these women?

The first contact will be by phone followed by a personal note card (provided) in the mail. (Visits are encouraged if, while speaking with your contact(s), you feel led to expand on this important “connection”.)

What exactly should I ask or say to these women when I call them?

Examples of comments and/or questions for your contact include:

  • Have you and/or your family found a Life Group for Sunday morning?
  • If she has children, inform her of upcoming children's events.
  • Inform her of upcoming Women's Ministry events.
  • Ask what her interests are and if you can assist her in finding a place of service.
  • Finally and most importantly, let her know how excited we are that she is a part of the BHBC family!

What supplies do I need and how do I get them?

When you become a volunteer, you will meet with the Connect 2 Director who will give you a packet of information. This packet will include:

  • A Women's Ministry booklet, current church calendar and a list of the various Life Groups to assist you in answering questions your contact may have.
  • Stamped note cards to send to the new members with a sample of what to include on the note cards.
  • Postcards with stamped envelopes to record each contact made to mail to the Ministry Liaison.

What happens if I am unable, on any particular month, to make my contacts?

Please contact the director as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made. This is very important to ensure every woman is contacted.

What are my duties?

Each month you will receive an e-mail or phone call by the director who will give you the names, phone numbers and addresses of the new women members who need be contacted.

  • Pray before each contact is made asking the Lord to guide you in providing the help, support and assistance she may need.
  • Contact each woman you are assigned by phone, answering any questions she may have and arrange to meet, if you feel led to do so.
  • Follow up the phone call by sending the personal note card in the mail.
  • Mail completed postcards, recording your contact(s), in the stamped envelope provided and mail to the Ministry Liaison, Suzanne Burge.
