Women's Ministry is taking a team back to Gallup, New Mexico to share the love of Jesus with the Navajo and Zuni people from Sept. 11 - 18, 2010.

First informational meeting to be held on Sunday, Aug. 15 at 4:00 pm

In the meantime, I wanted to let you know some of what we will be doing on the trip. I hope you will pray about going with us on this trip. I WORK REALLY HARD TO KEEP THE COST OF THE TRIP DOWN. We don't stay in expensive motels, or go out to eat 3 meals a day while on mission. One way to keep the cost down is by providing sandwich makings, chips, drinks, etc., for lunches and preparing the evening meal for the team. Breakfast is continental style at the motel. I expect the cost of the trip to be around $850, depending on air fare. THE CUT OFF DATE TO SIGN UP TO GO TO NEW MEXICO, WILL BE AUGUST 23.


During the daytime, we will be working on two fronts - in Gallup and out on the reservation. The projects will be:

  1. We will have a team at First Indian Baptist Church in Gallup which will laying tile flooring. We will need several "good men" and/or "good women" for this job. For those of you who have been to First Indian Baptist, we will be replacing the floor in the foyer that goes toward the kitchen, the kitchen, the hallways, and the two bathrooms. I am going to try to get some of the native men who attend the church to get involved with this project as well.
  2. We will also be conducting a women's conference outside of Gallup, on the reservation, at the Miller Community Center. We will be conducting this conference during the morning hours from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The conference will run 3 or 4 days to be determined.
  3. In the evening, I am trying to put together a "mini" conference for the men. This would probably be 3-4 evenings. The sessions would be about an hour and a half long with refreshments at the end of each session.

    4. * I am looking for a man who would lead the sessions for the men. These guys need to meet and see examples of godly men. Our men would also attend the sessions and participate in discussions. If you think you may be the one to lead these sessions, please contact me.

    ** I am also looking for someone to be our cook for the team. If service is your gift this is the trip for you. If you might be interested in this ministry of service, please contact me.

    *** Also, if you are musically gifted, and would like to lead the music prior to the beginning of the women's conference, PLEASE contact me.

    **** I need someone who would LOVE ON THE KIDS. If you are gifted in working with children, PLEASE contact me.

    ***** You do not have to have experience in tiling, we will teach you.
